New furniture for the kitchen cupboards.
Something simple and quick that we thought we'd start with is updating the kitchen a little. We recently got a new fridge in stainless steel, and have a few assorted kitchen appliances and gadgets that are also stainless, so we thought we'd get some handles to match. Here's the complete photo set. The kitchen is currently pretty dim, so we thought we'd try out some compact fluorescent lights. I don't think we're going to stick with these in the long term, as the color of the light isn't very pleasing. You'll also notice the odd phone that was left behind. We don't have a land-line, but right now the phone is covering up a hole in the wall.
House
We moved into our first home on January first, 2009. It's in a very small town called Copperton, which lies next to the worlds biggest mine.
The house is in reasonably good shape, especially considering that it is 82 years old. We were able to convince the previous owners to replace the roof for us before we moved in, as well as a few other minor issues around the house. We've got quite a few projects that we want to tackle in the next weeks, months, and years. Right now we want a way to share what we're doing with friends and family, so we're setting up a blog.
If you'd like to check out the various rooms of the house, there are many pictures hosted here that show a walkthrough of the house just before the previous owners moved out.
